Character Name: Kazuma Asogi
Age: 23
Canon: The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
Canon Point: Pre-case 2-3
History: Ace Attorney wiki link
Personality: Taken from my Ximilia app, so the format is three positive traits and three negative traits:

Negative traits:
Abilities:
Inventory: His silly Masked Apprentice outfit (mask and cloak included) and a western-style saber
Eternal Reward: Literally he just wants to be put back in London. He's easy/single-minded.
Goals/Ideas: I wanna put this weird little guy into vice city and watch him go. I went with this pull point because I interpret Kazuma's amnesia as being at least partly self-inflicted and psychological in nature, and I want to play with what could happen if pressure is put on that in an entirely different environment than in canon. One of my favorites of Kazuma's spicy traits is his willingness to compromise his principles in service of a greater goal, even if he hates himself for it, and I want to see how much Neon Requiem can push him; I also want to play with how long he can avoid triggering his memories returning even though he has no good reason to do so (aside from him being ashamed/afraid of them, which he isn't able to admit).

Positive traits:
- Determination: Kazuma is an extremely driven person. For ten years, his entire goal was to get to Great Britain to investigate the truth of this father's death, and to that end he threw himself into his studies in order to be considered for his university's highly competitive study abroad program. When agreeing to assassinate someone was presented as one of the conditions for going on said program, he willingly accepted if it meant he was still able to go to Britain. When he was injured badly enough to forget his own name and had no money besides, he still managed to get himself from Hong Kong to Britain entirely under his own power, simply because he was so hell-bent to get there. His ability to buckle down and laser focus on his own goals is probably his defining character trait, for better or worse.
- Loyalty: Kazuma is very slow to trust, but once he does trust someone he's ride or die. That study abroad trip he's so desperate to go on and has been his driving goal for years? He puts it all on the line just to defend Ryunosuke against his false murder charges, despite the overwhelming evidence against him, simply because he believes that strongly that Ryunosuke is innocent and he couldn't live with himself if he left him out to dry. It really can't be overstated how important that trip is to him, so him being willing to risk it is HUGE.
- Sense of justice: My guy loves justice so much he literally has a calligraphy wall scroll reading JUSTICE that he wrote himself. He's a passionate law student at the forefront of the development of his own country's nascent legal system, considered a bright young star at the beginning of his career. He is also NOT quiet about what he thinks of politics and governmental institutions, which is not flattering; it's obvious that for him "justice" is an ideal separate from how it's implemented at a systemic level. Considering both his father and his best friend were framed for murder by the government, it's not surprising he doesn't trust them much. This also means he has a tendency toward vigilantism but let's focus on the positives here.
Negative traits:
- VENGEANCE: The dark side of his sense of determination and justice, Kazuma is both a very angry person and extremely difficult to convince otherwise when he has his mind set on something. In combination with his distrust of authority/The Gubmint, this means that he can and will take matters into his own hands if he thinks the justice system has failed. Unfortunately, this ends up causing more trouble than it's worth and it results him in almost murdering one man and wrongly convicting another, so safe to say it's a more dangerous trait of his.
- Hotheadedness: Kazuma is very impulsive and has a tendency to make snap decisions. Unfortunately, he frequently has not thought these things through, and it only results in him coming off a little unhinged. He's quick to use his sword to threaten people (even if nonseriously) and will sometimes go very overboard in trying to get witnesses to talk. He has even gotten to the point of physically attacking people (namely Gregson) when angry enough with their refusal to cooperate. He is not proud of this.
- Self-absorption: I don't know how else to describe his insistence on keeping secrets and making decisions for other people because he doesn't trust even the people he loves to understand or support what he's trying to accomplish. It's born from mistrust after almost everyone in his life has failed him to some degree, but Kazuma really makes a lot of decisions that affect other people (namely Ryunosuke and Susato) without ever telling them the full story or letting them make informed decisions; he simply lets them follow him into dangerous, ill-informed situations and considers this acceptable because at least it means they will be there to support him ♥ It's not a great look, frankly.
Abilities:
- Swordfighting: Kazuma is the proud descendant of an old samurai family and has been training with katana since he was at least eight. Though he's largely self-taught at this point, he's very good at swordfighting, to the point where he's able to fend off multiple men armed with guns unscathed.
- Law stuff: He is very well versed in 1900s legal theory of both Japan and Great Britain, as presented by an absurd video game about cartoon lawyers. This will probably have very little relevance in Neon, but it's A Skill!
